Cost effective Robotic solutions leading to practical, efficient and highly accurate medical intervention techniques
Tryggvi Örn Gunnarsson
Lead Engineer at Interventional Systems
Image guided Surgical interventions have shown to be an effective, safe, and reliable technique. However, if there is limited space at the skin entry site, or a difficult angulated access, percutaneous instrument placement to the target can be technically challenging. Combining the benefits of live imaging with the stability and precision of robotics will make the challenge much more accurate, stable, faster and safer by avoiding radiation exposition to clinical personnel.
Tryggvi is an electrical engineer with B.Sc. degree from the University of Iceland and M.Sc. degree from University of Karlsruhe, Germany. He recently joined the German/Austrian company Interventional Systems GmbH as Lead engineer in Hardware development after five years working experience at NOX medical.
Tryggvi’s presentation will be held in English.
